about
Ashe Baileigh is a Tulsa-based teacher, actor, and writer, whose work blends bold storytelling with a radical sense of empathy. Equal parts heartfelt and hilarious, Ashe brings a quirky, honest voice to everything she creates; whether she's commanding a stage, guiding a classroom, or scribbling down poems in the margins of lesson plans.
With over a decade of performance experience, Ashe has appeared with reputable companies such as Tulsa Shakespeare Company and RiffRaff Tulsa, carving out a name for herself in the local theatre scene. Her writing, known for its wit, vulnerability, and unapologetic truth, has been featured in Tulsa’s own Empire of Missed Chances Vol. 3, The Talon, and more. Her satirical narrative essay We Do Not Have An Education Crisis in Oklahoma and her protest poem 1,019 reflect her sharp insight into the state’s educational system, while her poem I’m like if Narcissus was just a girl showcases her playful take on queer identity and self-perception. Additionally, her short play The Lord’s Work was produced by Broken Arrow Community Playhouse in 2020, and she’s recently returned to play writing with a renewed focus and a fresh, fearless voice.
A proud graduate of Northeastern State University (B.A.Ed in English Education, 2024), Ashe currently teaches Pre-AP English and AP Literature, while also coaching Speech and Debate at the largest high school in Oklahoma. She believes fiercely in the power of art to challenge systems, explore identity, and spark change — especially when it makes people laugh, cry, or see something differently. Whether she’s on stage or on the page, Ashe Baileigh is here to tell stories that matter: with heart, humor, and a whole lot of humanity.
